PMC is delighted to announce that our build Goldsmith Avenue is the winner of the Regeneration Project of the Year Award. The award was presented at the prestigious South Coast Property Awards 2019 – the biggest property event in the region.
Goldsmith Avenue, near Fratton train station in Portsmouth, is a 70-flat scheme in a great central location in the beating heart of the city. 56 of the 1, 2 and 3-bed configurations are affordable rent. The remaining 14 form part of a shared ownership scheme.
The project is being built in conjunction with affordable home provider VIVID Homes, who were with us to pick up our award.
Mike Shepherd, Development Director at VIVID, commented:
“There were lots of challenges to deal with on this project, including nearby Victorian terraced housing, the football club and a railway line.
We delivered affordable housing that is environmentally friendly, working very closely with HGP Architects and building contractor PMC Construction.”
It was a glitzy summer’s evening for PMC at the Hilton at Ageas Bowl, Southampton. With over 400 people across 60 different institutions in attendance, the atmosphere was buzzing with anticipation.
The host for the black-tie event, broadcaster Adrian Chiles, offered up jovial insights, inspiration and motivation as the night continued.
The winner of each award was chosen by a panel of 18 judges from various backgrounds. The panel, chaired by Head of Client Relations at The Business Magazine Peter Laurie, had to choose a winner from the best and most exciting developments in the region.
The award was sponsored by Blake Morgan, who were excited for Goldsmith Avenue’s win.

Award judges looked for how the area has been revitalised for those who live and work there. In the end, there could only be one winner – and we couldn’t be more proud of the achievements of our team.
Congratulations to all award winners and thank you to all the judges and The Business Magazine for organising a wonderful evening. We hope to see you again next year!
