In September, PMC Construction were delighted to announce that we extended our partnership with Portsmouth Football Club for another 3 years.
Over the past two years, PMC and our supply chain partners have completed 13,000 hours of work to safely redevelop stadium fittings, hospitality areas – all while preserving the legacy of the Club’s South Stand.
PMC and Portsmouth, construction and football: striking similarities
One thing became clear as we helped redevelop Fratton Park: we saw just how seriously the Club values its community as a wider part of its team.
Pompey fans, who have loved and supported their club for generations, have earnt the nickname as the team’s “12th Man”. For Portsmouth, every matchday, fans are more than onlookers: they’re part of the team, and they wear their number with pride.
The Club even retired the number 12 so fans would always be in the matchday squad.
Putting our people first
Just like Portsmouth F.C., we have a commitment to our supporting partners. The PMC family is huge: every member of our supply chain – from the manufacturers to the boots on the ground – is a dedicated member of our team. As an accredited member of the Investors in People Scheme,
As Fratton Park was redeveloped, both parties made a commitment to use local labour from within the Portsmouth area. We ensured that at least 85 per cent of the work was completed on this basis, with 13,000 operative hours and 85 operatives having been involved.

Stephen Cripps, Director of PMC, said:
“Both Portsmouth Football Club and PMC Construction are heavily involved with community-based projects and this renewed partnership will add more strength moving forward into the next few years.”
We’re proud to support Portsmouth as an Official Club Partner, as the Official North Stand Sponsor, and as fans. We’re glad to be part of the team.
